It's sinking in....

It is starting to sink in that in 9 weeks and 6 days (39 weeks and 2 days into this pregnancy) I'm going to be holding both of my miracles in my arms.  I can't even express all of the feelings this stirs up in me.  I am excited and scared but mostly I feel blessed.

God saw fit to give us our son and this baby as well.  These children were specifically created by our Father for us.  Just thinking about that overwhelming gift brings tears to my eyes.  I pray daily that we raise them in such a way that is pleasing to Him and honors these blessings He has given to us.

Thank you Father!

2012: A Year in Review

So I haven't written a blot post in nearly a year. I figure I will try again. Not sure what direction I'm going to take yet but I'll start with a review of the highlights for my family in 2012. I'm looking forward to 2013 and many changes. The greatest being a new baby in March! So here we go with the highlights.

January: Nothing significant.

End February/beginning March: my husband quit his job and became a self-employed general contractor. Huge change for us but we needed one! And end of March we decided we were ready to add a second baby to our family; more on that later.

April: Tried to potty-train our then 2 year old son. Let's just say it was an unsuccessful venture. Oh and my husband and I both turned 33!

May: Our fourth wedding anniversary! It went so fast! We also learned our son was in need of speech therapy! Difficult to learn but we wanted him to get the help he needed.

June: We found out we were pregnant and miscarried our baby the same day. I didn't deal with this miscarriage nearly as well as our first miscarriage but I won't get into that here.

July: We got pregnant again right away! Baby due March 24, 2013. God has had to deal with much fear during this pregnancy.
October: Our son turned 3. Let me tell your right now this is the year of the personality/attitude! He also transitioned from home-based speech therapy to a Pre-K program. By this time he has made, as the therapist said, phenomenal improvement!

December: We learned our church was sending out TWO church plants! So excited! One will be in Bowling Green, Ky (WKU) and the other in State College, PA (Penn. State). So glad God has allowed us to be a part a church planting church.

We happily wrapped up 2012 last night just the three of us at home. We look forward to 2013. I'm not making any blog promises or resolutions. I am going to try harder to post. Might get a little sparse at times as the new baby arrives but we'll see! Happy New Year all!
