This has been quite a week. Friday, Apr 29, 2011 was my husband's birthday. I was celebrating it instead of the Royal Wedding :). A man from the church I grew up in also passed away on Friday. So it was a pretty mixed day for me. Not to mention all those families who are dealing with the flooding. My heart is so heavy for those who have either lost all they have or at risk of it. In small group we have been discussing prayer for the last few weeks. One of the questions we asked the group was when was the last time you prayed with a great sense of urgency. I think my answer has changed since Thursday. I am praying urgently for those in this flood. Please don't misunderstand me because I am not saying that all prayers aren't important but some just grip your heart so that you pray very passionately about them. That is how the current flood situation has been for me. That being said I will move on to my praises and requests.
PRAISES
1. God gave us a fairly rain free Saturday.
PRAYER REQUESTS
1. I am asking that God will help me to continue to press into Him for a deeper relationship.
2. I pray that He continues to highlight people for our members to invite so our small group will grow and touch more lives.

3. My husband is STILL waiting to hear one way or the other about the Carpenter's position he interviewed for at a nearby prison. He feels like the interview went well and they told him it could be two days to two months before he hears one way or the other (He interviewed Mar. 22nd). Please pray he gets this job. It would be so good for our family.
4. I pray for the church plant we are sending to Athens, Ohio this summer. I pray that God builds up those being sent out on the church plant and that God would prepare their hearts for this as well as the hearts of the people in Athens. Adding to this there are about 30 going and 20 of them still need to find jobs or get into school.
5.I am praying for all those with continued flooding. I am praying for God to stop the rain and waters from rising.
6. A gentleman from the church I grew up in passed away Friday. Please pray for his wife, son, daughter and grandchildren. He was such a wonderful man and will be greatly missed.
7. My family has just not been able to shake sinus issues, allergies etc over the past couple weeks. Pray that we all get well.
8. I am praying for our Prayer Monday group. Please help us to be able to pray passionately, earnestly and to not become overwhelmed by the requests. Thank you Lord for these ladies!
PRAYER THIS WEEK
Father,
Help me to remember that You are the one in control. There are so many things on my list right now that are not things I have control over. Give me peace about this. Father I ask that You give comfort and provision to those affected by the flooding. Keep them safe. I also ask You to help me to discern when I need to pray more urgently. Father, I ask you to be with each of us an give a boldness as we pray.
AMEN
